Bucket Hat Granny Square Crochet– Free Written Pattern + Video Tutorial

  Bucket Slouch Summer Hat

  Needs 5 squares,4 squares as pic A and one slightly different                   as picB. Crochet skills: Intermediate and advanced   

Body hat 4 squares

Rd 0 : Ch 5 joined with sl st or magic circle.
Rd 1: 16 x Dc in the loop sl.st at the top of the first dc.
Rd 2: 16 x ( 2x dcl-yarn over twice) ,no space ,finish with sl st-Change colour
Rd 3: Mark 4 corners .In The corners 3 x DC ,CH 2, 3 x DC in the same loop. Between corners 3 loops each 3xDc…sl st finish.
Rd 4: Rep rd 3.Between corners will be 4 loops. Each loop 3 x DC. Finish sl st.
Rd 5: Dc all around,inside corners will be 5 loops.3xdc in each loop,in corners 3dc,ch 2,3xdc…sl st and 

Top square as Pic B

Rep from rd 1 to rd 5 as Pic A. For the round 5-in each corner 5 xHDC only.Rounding the corners.

Seamings

The 4 squares will be joined with BLO -(joining 2 squares from the back of the loop )

Border

The first round needs to be tight. HDC all around in each stitch. Where the 2 squares are joining one HDC(reducing one loop in corners).

From the rd 2 to to rd 6 needs multiplying in the same stitch.Mark each square where is joining,it will be 4 markers + the middle of each square.Total will be 8 markers.At each marker multiply in the same stitch 3 xHDC.

Last 3 rounds work as normal no multiply,but you want make the border bigger you can continue with more rounds.

It will be 9 rounds altogether worked HDC all around.

Don’t forget to alternate the colours as you like..
